چکیده

background: maximal volume oxygen is an accepted standard for measuring cardiorespiratory readiness. this factor indicates the power of physiological adoption for increasing activity time and efficiency of cardiovascular system. the objective of this study was to find out an optimal correlation between maximal volume oxygen and maximal voluntary ventilation indicators and their effect on cardiorespiratory readiness of shahid chamran athlete students during 2004-2005. methods: a descriptive analytical study was designed to recruit athlete students.  sixthy athlete students were selected using simple random selection method. the subjects age range was between 19-25 years old and they were about the same weight and height. data was analyzed using canonical correlation analysis methods. results: the results indicated that the optimal correlation occurs when both lung expiration and lung inspiration indicators have simultaneous effect of maximal volume oxygen and maximal voluntary ventilation on spirometric ones( r=0.81 , p<0.001). this correlation indicated 65.61 percent change of spirometric indicators by lung inspiration and expiration indicators. conclusion: the study concluded that there is a positive and direct relationship between lung inspiration and expiration indicators and spirometric ones.

Mechanical work of breathing during maximal voluntary ventilation.

With the use of the esophageal balloon technique, the working capacity of the respiratory muscles was assessed in four normal subjects by measuring the work per breath (W) and respiratory power (W) during maximal voluntary ventilation with imposed respiratory frequencies (f) ranging from 20 to 273 cycles/min. Measurements were made in a body plethysmograph to assess the work wasted as a result ...

Effects of maximal and sub-maximal resistance exercise on muscle damage, inflammation, intrinsic antioxidant in non-athlete men

Introduction: The intensity of the strength training at the start for preventing muscle damage, inflammation and intrinsic antioxidant is not well defined. Intrestingly, the purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of maximal and sub-maximal resistance exercise on muscle damage, inflammation and intrinsic antioxidant in non-athlete men. Materials and Methods: Nineteen young untrained me...

MAXIMAL PRYM VARIETY AND MAXIMAL MORPHISM

We investigated maximal Prym varieties on finite fields by attaining their upper bounds on the number of rational points. This concept gave us a motivation for defining a generalized definition of maximal curves i.e. maximal morphisms. By MAGMA, we give some non-trivial examples of maximal morphisms that results in non-trivial examples of maximal Prym varieties.

Athletic Differences in the Characteristics of the Photoplethysmographic Pulse Shape: Effect of Maximal Oxygen Uptake and Maximal Muscular Voluntary Contraction

This study aimed to investigate the athletic differences in the characteristics of the photoplethysmographic (PPG) pulse shape. 304 athletes were enrolled and divided into three subgroups according to a typical sport classification in terms of the maximal oxygen uptake (MaxO2_low, MaxO2_middle and MaxO2_high groups) or the maximal muscular voluntary contraction (MMVC_low, MMVC_middle, and MMVC_...

Reference values for lung function tests. II. Maximal respiratory pressures and voluntary ventilation.

The strength of the respiratory muscles can be evaluated from static measurements (maximal inspiratory and expiratory pressures, MIP and MEP) or inferred from dynamic maneuvers (maximal voluntary ventilation, MVV). Although these data could be suitable for a number of clinical and research applications, no previous studies have provided reference values for such tests using a healthy, randomly ...
